Our Guest Designer for December is Wanda Heron from Canada..

Hello, my name is Wanda Heron. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. I have been married 22+ years to a special man, Mark, and we have one son Mitchell. Mitchell is 16, driving now, and generally growing up too fast! Both of my ‘boys’ provide constant inspiration and encourage me to challenge myself to do and be the best person I can be. I have been told I have an infectious laugh and a warm spirit. I try to honor these traits at every opportunity.

I have always had a creative heart. Even from an very early age the right side of my brain was definitely stronger than my left! I was introduced to scrapbooking by my wonderful mother-in-law when my son was just little. But, returning to University when Mitchell was 1 year old put other things first. About 2 years ago a good friend asked me if I would like to attend a “Weekend Scrapganza”. I packed up my little bag and off I went to give my hand a try at this art form. I was flabbergasted by the volume of people and the amount of luggage they brought. Now I am one of them – rolling my multiple suitcases of paper and supplies to Crops whenever I can!

My style is ever evolving and is only slightly dampened by the fact that my one child is a boy. I put flowers and lace wherever I can! I like vintage and shabby chic, and combining with these two just the right amount of ‘grunge’. Most of all my pages are a story, and in the best way I can they retell the moment, the feeling, the emotions from the past. I try my best to not be held to any conventions of what things should look like and follow the map that is in my head. I love completing challenges not just for the great ideas they provide but also the deadline that is put in front of me.

Scrap the Boys is a favorite blog of mine. The design team is fabulous and their challenges have great variety. I hope you will join in on the fun of showing us your non-traditional Christmas color scheme. Here is my take on it.
