Challenge Information

Happy New Year everyone!!! I hope you all had a fantastic "silly season" and enjoyed the family time, took lots of photos and are ready to scrap. I am very excited to give a little bit of a run down on how the revamped Scrap the Boys will work.

How the challenges will work:
Every month on the 1st I will post the months challenge accompanied by the creative team reveal. The challenges will be centered around our boys and the inspiration for the challenges will be varied to help you get out of the boyzone you are currently in. All layout entries will be posted on the blog and also in the gallery slideshow on the sidebar. This will ensure we all get to benefit from all that gorgeous boy inspiration being shared. Please also be aware that the blog is also a huge source of inspiration and the layout you enter may be used as such by other scrappers therefore scraplifting of your layout could occur.

How to enter:
All you need to do to enter is create a layout using the challenge criteria for your inspiration and email your layout to me prior to midnight at the end of the month. My email address is susan.longman@bigpond.com so save it to your address books. You can expect a response email within the week of you sending your entry, if you do not recieve one please resend your entry to me as I would hate to miss you off the blog.

Monthly Boy Swaps:
Every month I will be running a boy themed embellishment swap as well as the layout challenge. For the swaps you will be required to sign up by commenting on the post and emailing me to confirm your spot in the swap. Sign up cut off will be by the 10th of every month and swap items will need to be mailed to me by the 20th of every month so please be courteous to the other swappers and commit to the time frames. These swap will be heaps of fun and the benefit is you get some unique embellishments to use on your pages...we all know how difficult it is to find good boy embellishments.

Announcing the winners:
Winners will be announced in the first week of the month and they will recieve an email to inform them of their win plus which sponsor will be contacting them and also as part of the prize is the opportunity to be one of our "Scrapper in the Spotlight" which is a guest CT spot for an upcoming challenge. We would love for you to be involved in this but it is not compulsory.

A bit about me too

Hi I am Susan Longman...I am a stay at home mum of 2... Ashton is my boy is 4 1/2 and Eve is my little girl is almost 3. I love scrapbooking I have been doing it for 4 years now and have fallen in love with the online world of challenges and challenge blogs. I am on the team at Creative Scrappers, Scrap the Girls, White with 1 (my other challenge blog) and now here. I am really excited about this new venture and hope that the work and challenges that are posted here inspire you all to get those boy pages done with a little variation to your normal style. I would also like to thank all the sponsors who have jumped on board and donated prizes as it is fabulous to have there support and be able to offer you all an additional incentive to get those boy photos out.

Introducing Kell Lusted

Hi ...my name is Kell. I am a stay at home mum of 2...Bailey my 6 year old boy and Ashlee my 4 year old girl. I am married to a fabulous "boy" Andrew who loves that I have a creative hobby to keep me occupied. I have been scrapping for 4 years and love everything about the hobby. My style is very layered, blocky and coordinated and I don't ever use felt on my pages...lol. I love challenges and am on the DT at Mystical Scrapbooks, Scrap the Girls and White with 1. I am so excited to be joining Scrap the Boys as I love doing boy layout as hope that the work I produce will inspire other Mums with boys to scrap more of their pages.

Introducing Wendy Smith

I' m Wendy, Mother to Charlie (almost 4 ) and Angus (2.5yrs), paper addict and scrapaholic. I am a total challenge JUNKIE and love to work with sketches. I am so pleased to working on a great site with a talented team of scrappers. I would describe my style as distressed, layered and clustered using everyday photos. Hope to inspire and be inspired on my journey here with you all.

Introducing Leanne Triggs

Hi Everyone, I'm Leanne and I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the Scrap the Boys Creative Team. I live in the gorgeous Hunter region of NSW with my partner of nearly 2 years and adorable son, Riley who is 7 and the main subject of my scrapping. I have always created in some medium, but scrapbooking also provides a method of recording and preserving our story, something that is really important to me given that Riley is an only child.
I stumbled across scrapbooking following the end of my marriage and it became my theraputic vehicle, now I just love it!! I find it difficult to define my style as it is constantly evolving, and love trying out new techniques and different formats to challenge myself for an alternative look to my pages. Others, however, have described it as "rustic". I love patterned paper and embellishment clusters and most layouts feature layered paper.
I look forward to commencing this journey.

Introducing Peta MacBeth

Hi I'm Peta, I live in the beautiful Hunter Valley NSW. I'm married to Jason, & we have 4 gorgeous kids - 2 Boys, 2 girls. [10,7,3,& 9mths]
I have been scrapping for 5 years now, since baby #2 was 2yrs old.
My creative passion started with photography, which I have been doing now for over 10yrs - and as our 1st son is VERY photogenic I love the fact that my scrapping enhances all the photos I have of him, and my other children too.
My scrapping is not only my addiction but my life - my business - my down time - my relaxation.
I love that scrapbooking challenges me, actually I love everything about it, and everything it gives me in return. I have made so many wonderful friends through scrapbooking and have enjoyed so many special retreats and fun times. I love the fact that my "obsessive" hobby includes my family & friends, especially my mum & my best friend.
I am extremely obsessed with creating boy LOs so I am very excited about being a part of the Creative Team and cant wait to enjoy the challenge this brings me.

Introducing Kerryn Fry

Hi there! My name is Kerryn, I live in Adelaide with my partner and best friend, Shane and our super handsome four year old son, Harrison. I have to work part time, (against my will) in administration to fund my serious addiction to this amazing craft. My Mother is partly to blame for this problem, unfortunately we are as bad as each other. The first few years were spent doing memory albums for our little angel in heaven, a very important part of my scrapping evolution.
I joined my first forum in 2007 and began scrapping pages for Harrison and myself, I haven't looked back since. The motto I scrap by ‘think outside the square’, it is both challenging and rewarding each and every time. My work has blossomed over the past 12 months and I look forward to seeing it continue. I am so excited to join the team here at Scrap the Boys and look forward to this new beginning.

Introducing Hannah Blair

I live in Auckland, NZ and I have been scrapbooking for about 4 years. My boys Ethan (age 6) and Tyler (age 4) are the inspiration for most of my work and feature in the majority of my layouts.

I'm currently on a couple of Design Teams and have had my work published in all the major NZ & Australian scrapbooking magazines. I'm very excited to be part of the Scrap The Boys team!

Introducing Sharon Suchoronczak

My name is Sharon Suchoronczak and I live in Murgon, about 3 hrs NW of Brisbane, Queensland. I am married and have a daughter and 3 sons, and now two grandchildren.

I have been scrapping for 6 years and I am extremely excited about being on the CT for Scrap the Boys. Having 3 grown up boys and a grandson will give me lots of inspiration to share with you over the next few months.

Firstly I would like to thank everyone whom applied ...we had an overwhelming response to the CT call...it is so heart warming to see the response we have had to the rebirth of Scrap the Boys...all the work was fabulous and I would have love to have had you all on the team so thank you to those ladies who applied. THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN!!!!

Yes you heard it here first Scrap the Boys is Back and all new…Scrap the Boys inspiration Blog is changing hands and changing format…

I’d like to thank Sharon Thompson for passing the blog over to me and I hope that everyone likes the directions it is about to take.

So what does this mean….we are looking for SPONSORS…so if you are an online store looking for a promotion opportunity please contact Susan Longman on susan.longman@bigpond.com....

And I need a talented CT…if you are interested in being on the "scrap the boys" creative team please email me the following by 18th December…

So to sum up "Scrap the Boys" will be a challenge blog with sponsors and have a talented creative team to get all you scrappers with boys inspired to work outside of your normal "boy" format. I hope to have the first challenge up on January 1st. If you want to sponsor the blog or apply for the creative team please email me by the 18th of December. Also pop scrap the boys on your blog feeds as it is going to be huge there are a few other exciting things planned too.
