August Challenge 1: “In touch with his…”

I am over the moon at the response we had last month on both our challenges…there are loads of very talented boy scrappers out there…and I feel very privileged that you have supported the blog and shared your beautiful layouts here. I especially want to thank those of you that are playing along from overseas as your work is inspiring and I know it is less tempting to share when you are not in the running for the prizes …so keep them coming:) Now for the challenge ….

I don’t know about you but I know I really struggle to put flowers on a boy page so the first challenge for August is to scrap a layout using flowers …to make it a little easier I will allow this one to be of you and your boy/s… Or if you can’t come at flowers …scrap about their feminine sides… or if you are feeling very clever… use both criteria.

This month our team was supplied with a fabulous pack of boy embellishments from one of our sponsors My 2 Angels and here is what our talented team put together for this challenge…

Joining the team…

Stacey Young

Hi there, my name is Stacey and I live in Central Queensland with my darling husband of 7 years, Tim.  We have 2 boys, Cooper (3 yrs) and Kobi (20 months).  I am a little bit of a scrap addict and these 2 little cuties are my main source of inspiration.  I have been scrapping for about 6 years but only really got into after the birth of Cooper and only found the online world of scrapping a couple of years ago.  I had a background of painting on canvas before I fell in love with scrapbooking but I guess I have always loved art!  I definitely have found my style and will be interesting to see how it changes as the boys grow up.  I would call it collage-like, very busy, colourful, cute and layered:)  My staple supplies would be paint, patterned paper, material.......actually I think there are too many to write down, basically the more I get on there the merrier..lol!!  I have tried doing white space but it just doesn't happen, I love to fill every inch!
Thankyou so much Susan, for asking me to join the team, it will be a pleasure working with such wonderful artists:)  If you want to come visit my blog and say "hi" here it is www.staceyeyoung.blogspot.com

I have lurked around Stacey's blog for some time… but had not been able to contact her so I was not able to secure her for the team last month …but as luck would have it she emailed me last week with an enquiry as she had her layout picked up for publication and so i was able to ask her to share her talent with you all here…Stacey has a very unique way of creating boy layout as think she will inspire us to explore our arty sides :)

This months sponsors

Scrap a While

Hi everyone my name is Alita, I live in country NSW on the mid north coast in Taree with my wonderful husband Graeme and 3 girls, Syvonne, Brianna & Tegan. Three years ago we made the decision to purchase ScrapAWhile the local scrapbook store which is also a Kodak Express store and keeps us very busy. We are very lucky to have a talented and hard working Design Team including Tarrah McLean, Kim Jeffress, Kim Kendell, Kylie Symons, Tracey Manderson, Kellie Harrison and Amanda Rixon.

We have a busy forum with lots of challenges, swaps and good discussions on scrapbooking and all types of papercraft and try to keep the blog updated with as much as possible and also now have a group on Facebook. The store stocks lots of different brands and are always happy to order in for people.

We are really excited to see Scrap The Boys back in action and are proud to be one of the first sponsors back.
